Guidelines for Submitting a Cradle

Thank you so much for your interest in The Cradle Project!  Requirements for your cradle are as follows; we ask that it be made predominately out of found, scrap, or throwaway material. (It can be any material)  We encourage structures to be larger then 1 ft. squared, however if they are smaller it must be freestanding.  Please consider how it will be showcased, you will want to include a podium or stand if it is smaller then the recommended size.  It does not need to be functional although it can be.

Artist agreements are available to download or email from our web site. If you decide to contribute a cradle please mail us the agreement as soon as possible.  The deadline for receiving cradles is May 1st, 2008.  But the sooner the better!   If you would like your cradle considered for publication in our publication, then we would need the physical cradle by March 1.

If you are in the Albuquerque area, you may drop your cradle off on the following Saturdays: Feb.2, Feb.16, Mar.1, Mar.15, Mar.29 and Apr. 12. The drop off location is the Bank of America building on the corner of Washington and Central, just east of the Nob Hill area. Please include the Cradle Information sheet with your cradle. If you would like to submit an Artist Statement please email this to nnatale@cradleproject.org after you deliver your cradle.

The Cradle Project also requests that the donating artist find sponsorship for their piece in the amount of $100.  This small amount is crucial to the success of The Cradle Project in its ability to promote awareness and raise financial support to help feed, shelter, and educate children orphaned by HIV / AIDS in Sub-Saharan Africa.  The New Mexico Community Foundation is providing fiscal sponsorship for tax-deductible donations.  Please have sponsors make donations to:
